Siemens has added new Nvidia AI software to its Intelligence Center X, creating a characterisation AI agent for self-verifying semiconductor and PCB design workflows.
The autonomous and long-running EDA AI agents will continuously validate designers’ decisions against proven engineering tools, says Amit Gupta, senior vice president and chief AI strategy officer, Siemens EDA, Siemens Digital Industries Software.
The Fuse EDA AI Agent system is integrated into Siemens’ Intelligence Center X for AI-driven, co-ordinated processes across design, manufacturing and the supply chain. It extends from high-level synthesis with Catapult, verification with Questa One and Veloce, and custom IC design and verification with Solido, through to physical implementation with Aprisa, signoff verification with Calibre and design-for-test with Tessent. It also supports advanced 3D IC integration using Innovator3D IC and PCB design with Xpedition.
The Fuse EDA AI Agent now provides optimised EDA agents, based on Nvidia NeMo Gym open library for agentic environments. This improves result quality, speed and token efficiency for semiconductor and PCB design, says Siemens. The EDA design flows benefit from self-verifying agents which learn from every project to automatically improve execution strategies, optimise workflows and make better use of accumulated context.
There is also the Nvidia OpenShell secure runtime which enables enterprise scale design teams to run autonomous agents across their entire EDA environment with enterprise-grade security, access controls and audit trails within governed runtime environments.
The Nvidia Nemotron models and Switchyard provide AI agents that understand complex engineering trade-offs at the speed of AI reasoning and support complex workflows.
Finally, the Nvidia accelerated computing and CUDA-X libraries can reduce to hours instead of day, the the time needed for signoff-quality results, says Simens.
The announcement expands the strategic partnership announced in March this year, when Nvidia’s Agent Toolkit, Nemotron models and AI infrastruture were integrated into Siemens’ EDA automation workflows.
